A magnificent World Heart Day event will be held in the vivacious city of Coimbatore on September 29, 2023, thanks to the collaboration of the National Service Scheme and the AJK College of Arts and Science , a prestigious autonomous institution certified with an A+ grade by NAAC. The year 2023's World Heart Day will have the slogan "Use Heart, Know Heart." This makes it easier for us to talk about the importance of having a healthy heart. This day can be utilised to spread awareness about the importance of a sound heart and the precautions we can take to maintain it.   Puthupathi Village Free Eye Check-up Camp by AJK College & Madurai Eye Centre is a "Visionary Outreach initiative"   On September 7, 2023, the National Service Scheme Unit I&II of AJK College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore , in partnership with Madurai Eye Center , organised a revolutionary Free Eye Check-up Camp that took place in the centre of the Puthupathi Tribal village. This project aims to provide the poor with much-needed eye care treatments. The fact that AJK College is an NAAC-accredited institution with an A+ grade, ensuring the highest levels of quality, made the event very meaningful. The camp has an exacting three-stage eye test that helped discover the villager's poor eyesight. They received specially made eyeglasses that were matched to their needs and their prescribed lens strengths.   "The Critical Thinking Workshop at AJK College: Transforming Knowledge into Skills"   The  Commerce Department at AJK College of Arts and Science  organised a one-day programme to foster critical thinking abilities among its students. The event's resource person was Dr. Aswin Nithish, who is well-known for founding Silver Bazaar Educator and for his work as a motivational speaker. Dr. Aswin Nithish's enlightening lecture explored the nuances of critical thinking with the goal of enabling students to assess, analyse, and apply their information. He emphasised the value of critical thinking for academic endeavours, as well as for personal and professional success. Onam Celebrations at the AJK College of Arts and Sciences , " PARANNONAM 2k23 ” A spectacular parade that was enjoyed by everyone in the College community opened the programme. It included chendamelam drummers, kavadi bearers, and energetic band music. The main attraction of the occasion was the large Thiruvathira, which was skilfully performed by a staggering 200 people. Traditional arts like Kathakali and Mohiniyattam, in addition to the fabled Mahabali and the enormous pookkalam, gave the event a beautiful aesthetic flair. "As the students danced and sang, their contagious excitement shined brightly on stage. A compelling and melodious harmony was produced when the violin and chenda were combined. The culmination of the celebrations was a spectacular Onam sadya, a feast for the senses, which was served after this cultural performance.
